A Storm So Bright and Beautiful

For a young man on a strange journey toward home, a storm works its miracles in a bittersweet novel of loss, love, and the families we choose by #1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz.

When a twister touches down in 1950 rural America, Benji Frost survives a day like no other. A young man of special graces and a memory so keen it breaks the heart, he decides to follow the spoor of the storm to find his beloved parents and sister, who disappeared in those crazy winds.

Taking to the country roads, Benji comes across John Smith, a disillusioned war vet who joins the trek. Miracle of miracles, so does Blondie, Benji’s golden retriever. Somehow that loyal girl, laid to rest years ago, has been reborn to guide her forever friend on a trail south. It leads to the Mayapple farm, where the widow Alice and her daughter Glenda face human threats greater than the next looming storm.

The skies will darken, but Benji sees what no one else can: a magnificent white horse that promises hope on an incredible quest. These folks were meant to meet. To what remarkable end, a newfound family will come to discover.
