Dark Horse

Blackwood has a serial killer problem. Lucky for her, one of them is obsessed with her.

After her messy divorce, Sienna Blake is done with men. She’s trading her wreckage for a sun-drenched future in California until a violent Montana storm sends her car skidding off the road and straight into Blackwood. A town with more cows than people, a thriving fascination with its serial-killer history, and one dangerously attractive rancher who looks at her like she’s already his.

Sterling Hayes didn’t build his empire by letting go of what he wants. And the moment Sienna steps into his town, something inside him wakes up. He knows she doesn’t belong there. He also knows he’s not letting her leave. So he does what any reasonable, wildly unhinged man would do. He steals a few critical car parts and buys himself time. One month to convince her that Blackwood is exactly where she belongs—preferably wrapped up in his sheets, wearing nothing but his flannel.

Sienna refuses to be easy prey. She’s stubborn, sharp-tongued, and far too smart for his dirty cowboy games. Between an accidently flashing incident, an embarrassing accident involving pie, and a series of ranch disasters that leave her bruised and furious, she’s determined to prove she won’t fall for him or this town.

But Blackwood has secrets that run deeper than flirtation and far darker than small-town charm. Women have been disappearing in the Montana wilderness, and everyone knows the land remembers blood. When the killer’s attention turns toward Sienna, Sterling’s careful restraint fractures. Because monsters recognize monsters. And the man watching her isn’t just a rancher willing to steal car parts.

He’s the kind of man who knows how to hunt.

Will Sienna escape Blackwood, or will she realize some traps are worth staying caught in―especially when the most dangerous thing in town is already obsessed with keeping her alive?
