It Started with a Cookie

Driven by rage, Claire flees into the dark night, barefoot and trapped in a maze of identical townhomes. The humid darkness closes in.

Run.

Footsteps echo, coming closer. She slips into a tiny patio, crouching in the shadows, praying to go unseen. Through the slats of the fence, a silhouette approaches—slow, steady, deliberate. The footsteps stop. He knows she is there. She is caught.

In the agonizing silence, the voice of terror whispers that she will never escape. And when he reaches for her, she retreats to the only place she can—her mind. With no fight left, she lets him carry her home.
