Overtime

Nika thought retirement would be the hardest part. Then the executive who built her hockey team kissed her in the tunnel.

At thirty-two, the former Foundry captain is trading a failing hip and a lifetime on the ice for a seat in the broadcast booth. Beverly, forty-eight, has no time for distractions: she is fighting for a national television deal, a skeptical ownership board, and the future of the women’s league she helped save. Wanting Nika is inconvenient. Acting on it could be catastrophic.

They take every precaution. Bev ends Nika’s club contract. Nika keeps their relationship away from the cameras. But secrecy has a way of becoming its own betrayal—and both women are very good at deciding what the other is allowed to know. When professional scrutiny closes in and an old financial decision threatens everything Bev has built, their private rules may not be enough to protect them.

Sharp, intimate, and high-heat, Overtime is a sapphic age-gap hockey romance about two women learning that love is not another problem to manage.
