Searching for Serenity: A Novel of Schemers, Seekers, and In-Betweeners

Everyone is looking for something. Most of them are looking in the wrong place.ZAC is a yoga instructor, a self-appointed financial visionary, and—according to ZAC—a man on the verge of something significant. His wife Suzanne has heard this before.ZAC possesses a rare talent for drawing people into his orbit. Whether that’s leadership or a naturally occurring weather phenomenon remains a matter of debate. When he becomes convinced that a mythical financial genius known as The Oracle is hiding somewhere in Mexico, he does the only reasonable thing: convinces his yoga students to finance the search, recruits his young disciple Brendan for the expedition, and heads south in pursuit of generational wealth, Fibonacci enlightenment, and at least one decent juice bar.Searching for Serenity is a comic ensemble novel about schemers, seekers, and the people who love them despite considerable evidence that they shouldn’t.It’s about a California bungalow that collects lost people. A bookstore built from rescued shelves and second chances. A seventeen-year-old poet with a teal scooter and an inconvenient gift for seeing through everyone. A cast of dreamers, hustlers, romantics, and accidental philosophers trying to figure out what comes next. And somewhere, beyond the noise, beyond the internet, and very much beyond his preference, a man known only as The Oracle is quietly hoping everyone will stop looking for him. They won’t.
