The Lethe Killer

In this compulsively enjoyable science fiction mystery, a detective addicted to a memory-wiping drug races to uncover a killer’s identity—all while confronting the truths she’s desperate to forget.

In the future, 95 percent of people live happily plugged into a fully immersive Digital world, their physical bodies encased in pods in the monolithic Citadel. Outside, a scattered few live in Analog, the real world: the exiles, the skeptics, and the unlucky ones, like Iraj Mistry, whose neural port failed at birth. Limited to life in Analog, Iraj has become a star detective. Now hunting a high-profile killer, her biggest problem is herself. Addicted to Lethe—a drug dispensed by the police to help victims forget traumatic events—she starts to realize that the holes in her memory may be hiding the very clues she needs.

Structured as six interconnected puzzle-box mysteries that snap together in a final, stunning reveal, The Lethe Killer tracks Iraj’s relentless pursuit of the truth through the overgrown and seedy streets of Analog. Each case is as satisfying as it is surprising, and together they spiral toward the greatest mystery of all: Who is the Lethe Killer?
