The Summer After You

For fans of John Green and Dustin Thao, The Summer After You is an achingly beautiful story of first love, loss, and letting go.

Ever since her older brother Emmet died, Josie Palmer’s life has felt like it’s on pause. She failed to graduate high school, her house is far too quiet, and the brother-shaped hole in her life only seems to be growing.

When Josie reconnects with Raf—Emmet’s annoyingly hot best friend—she’s confronted with her years-long crush as well as someone who knows exactly what she’s going through. Raf’s easy smile and calming presence make life feel just a little bit lighter again. But as they grow closer, and Josie attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding Emmett's death, she realizes that Raf might be keeping secrets too.

Each clue that Josie finds makes her brother feel like more of a stranger—and she may have to make peace with the fact that there are some parts of Emmet she’ll never be able to recover.
