Where the Lotus Blooms

A princess, a demon, and a land colder than ice—The Legend of the White Snake meets Beauty and the Beast in this magical fantasy perfect for fans of Studio Ghibli and Six Crimson Cranes.

Snow-covered Delun is all Princess Lian has known, along with the tales of demons clashing with her people inscribed in library books and whispered stories.

As Delun grows colder and more desperate, Lian's brother proposes marriage to the princess of a wealthier kingdom. Lian's duty is to assist her brother—and her kingdom's survival—by planning a welcome banquet for her brother's betrothed and playing the part of the perfect sister.

But when a mysterious performer unlocks dangerous magic hidden inside Lian, jeopardizing the life of her brother's future wife and the very foundation of Delun’s survival, she is exiled to the Sunset Pagoda deep within the bitter wilderness.

The ancient prison teems with lush flora and powerful demons Lian once believed were long dead. But to escape and save Delun, Lian must first harness her magic alongside the Serpent Lord who reigns over the Sunset Pagoda—and she begins to learn that her kingdom’s history may not be as true as she thought, or her magic as terrible.
