You're So Golden

"Chip Pons deserves all the flowers.” —Edward Schmit, USA Today bestselling author of The Open Era For fans Heated Rivalry and the D.C. Stars series by Chelsea Curto comes a swoony, high-stakes MM sports romance from USA Today bestselling author Chip Pons, where an Olympic decathlete navigating retirement rumors reunites with the ambitious journalist he ghosted four years ago...who just might need him for his big break.

Some moments win medals. Others change everything.

Nolan Reeves has spent his entire career chasing the story that will define him. Landing the lead anchor role for Olympic coverage is supposed to be his moment. The one that proves he belongs behind the desk. The one that makes him the voice audiences trust when it matters most. But there’s just one problem. Four years ago, Nolan had a single, unforgettable night with a man. . . who then blocked him without explanation. Now, that man is Mateo Álvarez: Team USA Track and Field’s co-captain, a gold-medal favorite, and the most controlled decathlete in the Games. And it’s Nolan’s job to get an exclusive.

Mateo doesn’t do distractions. Not when his career has been built on discipline, precision, and the ability to shut everything else out. Not when he’s returning to the Olympic stage after a silver-medal finish that still stings and an increasingly temperamental hip he needs to hold together. And definitely not when retirement rumors are circling and he has one last shot at gold.

But when the Olympic Village's less-than-ideal accommodations leave Mateo's already battered body desperate for a decent night's sleep, Nolan makes an offer he absolutely shouldn’t—sharing his king-sized hotel room in exchange for an exclusive interview—and Mateo says yes. One room. One story. One lane they’re not supposed to cross.

As the Games unfold on the world’s biggest stage, Nolan gets closer than any journalist ever has. Close enough to see the cracks in Mateo’s control and understand the man behind the uniform. And far too close to keep pretending that what's happening between them is just part of the story.

Because telling Mateo's story could make Nolan's career.

Falling for him could cost them both everything.
