The Vines of Truthwood

In Mossglide Forest, a family of forest kangaroos dreams of building a safe city high among the trees after floods, predators, and shrinking ground paths make life below increasingly uncertain. Parents Rowan and Elia, their inventive daughter Kiri, their restless son Toma, and Grandmother Vela begin with a single bridge between two giant figs. Soon squirrels, gliders, birds, possums, and other tree-dwelling creatures join the project.

But as platforms spread and ropeways multiply, the new city faces dangers that cannot be solved by clever construction alone: overloaded branches, arguments over who owns the highest platforms, shortcuts that exclude smaller animals, and leaders tempted to build for prestige instead of need. The family must learn that a city is not measured by how high it rises, but by whether its paths remain open, its burdens are fairly shared, and its builders remember the living trees holding everything above the ground.

This original continuous fable explores cooperation, planning, public space, growth, humility, environmental limits, and the difference between constructing a place and creating a community.
