There Will Be No Feelings

Dr. Lauren Pierce has a new relationship policy.

She isn’t having one.

After a spectacularly bad breakup—and the discovery that her ex spent nine months privately reconsidering their future while still sharing groceries, holidays, and streaming passwords—Lauren has concluded that relationships are badly designed systems with terrible communication protocols.

Casual is safer.

Fortunately, Sam Ellis agrees.

Sam is a commercial photographer, committed relationship avoider, and friend-of-a-friend who has no interest in complicated feelings either. So when attraction becomes impossible to ignore, Lauren and Sam establish a perfectly reasonable arrangement.

There are rules.

No sleepovers. No meeting family. No dates disguised as activities. No leaving belongings behind. No exclusivity expectations. And absolutely, positively, no feelings.

Then Sam accidentally acquires a dog.

Lauren becomes the dog’s veterinarian. Coffee orders are memorized. Emergency contacts are assigned. Toothbrushes appear. Saturdays start looking suspiciously like dates. And somewhere along the way, their carefully regulated casual arrangement develops enough shared infrastructure to require an actual compliance spreadsheet.

The rules are failing spectacularly.

Which would be funny if Lauren weren’t beginning to suspect the one thing she designed them to prevent has already happened.

There Will Be No Feelings is a warm, witty LGBTQ+ romantic comedy about two capable women, one increasingly unenforceable arrangement, an accidental dog, and the inconvenient discovery that feelings do not care about the rules.
